Additional 13 sizes for the VF-2XL, 2 flute IMPACT MIRACLE long neck end mill

September 08, 2008

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has recently developed and manufactured additional 13 sizes (from ø0.2 up to ø1.0) for the 2 flute IMPACT MIRALCE long neck end mill. These will start to be sold by Mitsubishi Materials Tools Corporation (President: Osamu Takata, Headquarters: 1-6-1 Yokoami, Sumida-ku, Tokyo).
VF-2XL In recent years, there is an increasing demand for mould applications for small products such as mobile phones, digital cameras and electronic connectors, and the requirement for machining accuracy of these products is also steadily increasing. However, with conventional tools, the cutting edge is liable to fracturing, making it difficult to achieve excellent machining accuracy. The VF-2XL uses a cutting edge geometry that improves fracturing resistance. It also uses Impact Miracle coating with high heat and wear resistance thus making it suitable for finishing machining of hardened steel small moulds and offers higher efficiency and quality machining. Additionally, varied neck lengths are available making it suitable for the machining of deep and complex parts.

Key features of the VF-2XL

1.
Newly developed end cutting edge geometry improves the corner fracture resistance. Suitable for finish machining of pockets and grooves.
2.
Use of Impact Miracle coating with superior heat resistance. Precision, high quality machining can be achieved with high film hardness and oxidation resistance.
